This Love

His hair was messy, unkempt in an adorable manner. I inched past my hallucination, grateful to find that I wasn’t dreaming. The weather was blazing, but it couldn’t dry out my anticipation to start the game. The casual smile or two was undoubtedly the adrenaline running through his veins, as he brought the ball to the three-point line. Effortlessly, he placed it into the hoop like he serenaded me unknowingly, celebrating the perfect shot with a peer. I was in no perfect mental condition to acknowledge the fact that he’s widened the score by another 3 points, with my eyes trailing him as he worked the dribbles, before passing the ball on to his victorious team mate. Rooted was I to the ground, the intensity of my stare began to burn through his skin. He threw his head back for a moment, realizing that this girl was staring at him for the past minute or two, instead of playing against him. I held my gaze for a moment, trying to un-believe that he has fixed his curiosity at a weird creature with two eyes, two ears and a nose. A second hand brought on the blood, washing through every capillary in my cheeks, choking my concentration, as I zoned out for a moment. From the corner of my spectacles, I spied on him grinning from ear to ear, before clumsily easing the itch behind his ear with the very hands which worked magic on the court. I smiled to myself.
